Kaliah POV The city air was thick with exhaust and the sharp scent of damp pavement. The streets were quieter this far from the main square, lined with flickering streetlamps and the occasional buzz of a neon diner sign. My boots were wearing thin, and I could feel every c***k in the sidewalk beneath them. It had been a few days since we left. I had packed supplies for us, enough to keep us fed, warm, and moving.
