“Long time no see.”
I stiffened the second I heard his voice.
It was a voice that haunted my dreams. I wished I could live my life without ever hearing it again, but obviously, I wasn’t going to get that wish.
He had followed me to Portland, determined to make me pay for what I had done.
“You made a mistake in coming here,” I warned.
But I could smell how many he brought with him. More people than I thought.
It wasn’t good.
I wouldn’t show fear, however.
