The pack was always on alert, so when we were approached by a bunch of wolves, we knew something was up.
A tall, lean woman approached me, arms crossed over her chest.
“Can I help you?” I asked, voice soft.
They saw me, a blind woman, and laughed.
“You’re Kalilah? The blind woman leading this sham of a pack?”
I nodded. “Yes. What is it you want?”
