Kalilah POV After a few more days, I was starting to heal more and more. Damon and I ended up kissing again, much to my surprise. Walking around, I ended up smelling my brother I found Kiran sitting on the back steps of the training hall, tossing pebbles into the grass like he was solving the universe one rock at a time. “You look thoughtful,” I said. “How can you tell?” “I’m assuming. Don’t pick on the blind girl.” He looked up and laughed. “Nah. Just bored. Thought if I sat still long enough, one of the warrior girls would notice how mysterious and emotionally available I am.” I snorted. “You’re about as emotionally available as a closed fist.” He gave me a slow grin. “You wound me.” I hesitated, then sat beside him, fingers fidgeting with the hem of my sleeve. “I kissed him.”
