Roman had never felt the drive to kill someone who didn’t hurt or betray his business or family. He also barely cared about any outsider really, save for Flora whom he considered family at the end of the day… And yet, he couldn’t keep the edge off his voice when he asked through the phone, “How is Rose?”
“Not in the best shape, boss,” the words made him still. Sure, the kitten was in surgery, but did that mean Rose was hurt as well? He didn’t know the details, and he hated that with passion. Hell, he would have preferred to be the one to go along with Flora, but he knew that would make for an awkward situation. “She was sobbing in Flora’s arms.”
Roman grunted in relief and kept listening.
“Mey lost the ability to walk,” Stefan went on. “I haven’t told her yet.”
