I looked at my frail wife and sighed. Seeing her in that bed, hooked to all those monitors, was killing me. As soon as Aisling left I sat on her bed and took her hand in mine. “Honey, I was so scared…” I said, trying not to allow my emotions to control me, but inevitably tears brimmed my eyes.
I was the f*****g Beta f the Dragon Realm, and the fear of losing her was rendering me helpless. She lifted her hand and caressed my cheek. “I am here…” She said and I nodded, trying to control my tears.
I broke in front of her, “Shh… my love… It was not m time, not until the darkness is defeated… and even after that I will be with you for an eternity” My lovely wife said, and I lifted my head and locked my eyes with her.
