Chapter Twenty-Six “Did you sleep good?” He asked as he sat down beside her, snatching a slice of bacon off his plate. She felt the blush warm her cheeks as she thought about her dream. “Oh yeah,” she answered. “Did you even go to bed last night?” Abby lifted her coffee cup, taking a sip of the warm, sweet liquid. “Mmm, perfect.” She said, nodding her thanks to him. Sam knew just how she liked her morning coffee, black with a splash of cream. “I stayed up most of the night, had to beat that level.” He said, smiling at her. They ate in a comfortable silence. When they were done, Abby took their plates to the sink and started to reach for the apron so she could wash the dishes quickly before leaving. Sam grabbed it before she could. “I’ll take care of the dishes today. You go ahead.”
