Chapter Forty-Five
He couldn’t even begin to understand how she must have felt. It would be like robbing a person of their future, and then telling that person that any child you brought into this world would have no chance of escaping that same fate either.
“He told the master he wanted me. That he wanted to start a family with me,” she said, rolling her eyes. “I had already been working hard and trying to save up money because I didn’t want that future for myself anymore or for any kids I might have.”
Eli nodded, understanding how she would want to escape from that. He didn’t think he would be able to stay either if that had happened to him.
“Staying with him would have been easy. I just had to overlook the constant cheating and his possessive nature.” Abby finally looked up at him.
