Chapter 03: The Jerk Is Determined To Win Him Back

1128 Words
It was dark outside, and the air is humid. The only source of light is from the flaming woods of the fireplace. Thorne sat on the wooden chair in front of the fireplace, looking intently at the burning woods. He took out the hip flask from his expensive suit and drank the liquor straight to his mouth, feeling the tough alcohol running down to his throat. The reflection of the fire illuminates his handsome face. No one can resist Thorne’s charm. Every time he walks down the hall, or wherever he may be, he will always be the apple of everyone’s eyes. Even the straightest-straight male that you know can bend their gender just for Thorne. Thorne heaved a sigh, staring at the oak wood door of Randy’s room. It has been six hours since he locked himself there, and the lunch he prepared for himself was never consumed. Thorne is worried, thinking that it is a bad idea to show himself to Randy’s life once more after the chaos he created for his life. “Randy, my love,” he whispered, calling his name and their endearment when they were together. He emptied the hip flash before putting it back inside the pocket of his suit. Years may have passed, but Thorne’s heart will always beat for Randy’s name. Destiny may have separated them, but Thorne’s determination to win Randy’s heart back is an unfathomable strength. Shoving his hands into his pocket as he rose from sitting on the wooden chair. Thorne narrowed his eyes on the door, and even though it was dim inside, he managed to walk straight, knocking on the door. “Randy? Could you please open the door for me?” he begged, sniffling as he knocked again. But all he could hear is the deafening silence. Thorne bit his lower lip hard as he began uttering words — which is new to his vocabulary as he sees himself as the person who never commits a mistake. “I-I’m sorry,” he swallowed a lump on his throat after apologizing sincerely to Randy. He glanced heavenward, breathing deeply. “I’m sorry, Randy. And I will never get tired of apologizing if it will somehow make you feel at ease,” he resonated. Randy, on the other side, is awaken from his deep slumber due to tiredness from crying. He slowly opened his eyes and heard muffled sniffs from the outside. His brows crossed in confusion, forgetting for a moment that there’s someone from his past wanting to reconnect with him once more. Soon the confusion on Randy’s face vanished like a bubble in the air as he heard the voice speaking. “I may have made a mistake in the past, but… it was just — I did not mean it!” Thorne cried. Randy took a deep breath, calming himself as he responded. “Go away!” he yelled back. He is not ready to see Thorne’s face again. The face that he always love to see before. The face that gives him euphoria and hopes that straight men could love each other. At first, Randy thought that it was just an illusion to love someone of the same gender, not until Thorne proves it to him. But it was all just a show. A show that Randy wished he could live forever. “M-My love, please?” Thorne begged, calling Randy by their endearment. A slight pang in the chest strike on Randy’s after sudden flashes of memory travelling on his brain after hearing Thorne’s voice that is as deep as the ocean, calling him by their endearment. “Please, stop it, Thorne,” he sobbed. “We are not young anymore, Thorne. I don’t want to be your pawn with whatever games you have inside your head!” wiping his tears as Randy sat on his bed. Thorne scoffed, licking his chapped lips followed by wiping his tears. “My love, I-I’m not playing games with you,” his lower lip trembled. “I am here to win you back —” “You already lost me, Thorne!” Randy responded. “Please, my love, open this door so that we could talk,” said Thorne, swallowing his pride and ego as he begged. Thorne knows not to bow to anyone nor to apologize. But falling in love with Randy changes his self-centred heart and his jerk mindset. “Can’t you see how hurt I am? Are that inconsiderate? Thorne! You left me hanging for five years! You used me as your pawn so that you can attain your father’s wealth!” Randy shut his eyes firmly, trying to stop the tears from escaping through his eye. He recalled the day when he overheard Thorne along with his jerk friends talking about their relationship. And how Thorne despises Randy, saying that he doesn’t love him and he was just using him to earn money from his father’s will. “M-My love,” Thorne broke down in tears, dumbfounded upon hearing Randy’s word. He thought that Randy didn’t know his previous plan — in which he wished to go back in time to correct it. “H-How did you —” Thorne did not finish his word. The door opened quickly, and a sweaty palm landed on his cheeks. “You used me! You used me for your own gain, Thorne!” and he received a second slap from Randy. Thorne could feel his cheeks burning, but what hurts him the most is seeing how devasted the person he loved unexpectedly as he narrowed his gaze through his eyes. Uttering not a single word, Thorne wrapped Randy’s slender body on his bulky arms. They both feel suttle strike of electricity as their body touches one another. “Randy, my love,” he whispered, burying his nose to Randy’s neck as he cried. Randy fell silent as his heart skipped a beat. He allowed the tears to stream down his cheeks, keeping his hands away from hugging Thorne back. “I’ve been a jerk. I know that. But believe me when I say that it’s you who tamed me. The one who changed me,” Thorne confessed, looking at Randy with his electric blue eyes glowing. And it was then that Randy knew that Thorne is speaking the truth. It is his sign whenever he says on his truth. But… Randy pushed Thorne away from him as he felt that Thorne slowly loses grip from hugging him, causing Thorne to fell on the ground. “I want you out of my life now and forever,” he said coldly, giving him a frosty look one more time as he locked himself into his room, slamming the door shut. “Randy, wait!”
