I sat on the cold floor in the cell, with my back pressed against the wall. The silence in this room was suffocating, I sat there hugging my knees with my chest. My instincts itched under my skin, urging me to claw my way out of this place, but Eryndra’s voice was steady in my head. “Not yet, Lila.” Her not being in support was frustrating. “Not yet?!” I snapped back at her in my mind, biting down on the inside of my cheek to keep from yelling aloud. “I’ve been poked and prodded like some lab rat. I’ve been dragged through halls that reek of blood and feels like pain. How long am I supposed to wait?” Eryndra’s presence didn’t falter.
