I dragged my thumb across the screen, bringing it up to my ear with a shaking hand. “Talon, you need to come over here.” Bridgette said, her voice sounded eerie. Like she didn’t want to tell me what she was seeing. “Something, somethings happened.” I didn’t say anything. Tucking the phone into my pocket, I bolted for the door. I’d talk to Ethan later, if I still had a job. Right now, I needed to get to Nevie’s. My feet pounded on the pavement and even though my body still ached, I pushed on, needing to make sure that she was okay. If something happened to her, I didn’t know what I would do.
