Chapter 2 - Cassie

2724 Words
Three months later. --- “Harder,” Cassie moaned into the ear of the man she couldn’t care enough to remember the name of. The man nodded into her neck and increased the force of his thrusts, making the bathroom stall shake more. Cassi had her legs wrapped around his waist for support and was trying to enjoy the moment, but the only thing she could focus on was the terrible breathing sound from the man. He sounded like he smoked five packs a day and exercised once a week. And by exercising, Cassie pictured the guy taking a couple of flights of stairs instead of the elevator. And she thought he had such promise, since he had an alright body. “Do you like that?” he said in-between breaths, and Cassi fake moaned a yes, hoping he’d release soon so she could get on with her life. She had to admit that he was a decent size, but it was a shame that he didn't know how to use it for anything other than his own pleasure. Finally, the man made the most off-putting sound she’d ever heard, and his face twisted in a way that made Cassie wonder if he was experiencing pain or pleasure, and she was glad she hadn’t had dinner that night. She got back to the ground, pulled down her dress, and opened the stall, not caring that the man hadn’t pulled up his jeans. She walked to the bathroom mirror and made sure that her makeup was not smudged, and brushed out a few messy hair strands from her chestnut-colored hair with her fingers, and noticed the man throwing the condom into the trash. Her hair was wavy and reached just below her shoulders, and she kept her makeup light to hyphenate her unique green eyes with gold rings around the pupils. She made sure her medium-sized breasts were in their place and turned around to ensure that her black mini-dress was clean. “So, can I get your number?” the man whispered in her ear and proceeded to grope her breasts from behind as she was washing her hands. “Sorry, I’m not that kind of girl,” Cassi said with a fake smile, dried her hands on the man’s shirt, and gave him a wink before walking out of the bathroom. The loud music welcomed her as soon as she opened the door, and a startled boy looked at her confused as she walked out of the men’s bathroom, but she just gave him a shrug and walked past him. She made her way through the crowd of sweaty and drunk people. The place smelled like sweat and stale beer, but she was too used to it for it to bother her anymore. She walked up to the bar, got around it, and nodded to the person working there. “That was a long bathroom break,” her friend Tabitha muttered as she poured a couple of beers. “I’m sure you managed just fine,” Cassi said and rolled her eyes, and proceeded to take the following order. “I hope you washed your hands well,” Tabitha whispered sarcastically, already knowing what she had been up to. “What do you take me for?” Cassie said with a frown and handed the drinks out after getting the money for them. “A bad friend that leaves me alone with a full bar to get some,” Tabitha said with a raised brow. “Trust me, I wish I hadn't,” Cassie groaned after she took another order. “That bad?” Tabitha chuckled. “That bad,” Cassie nodded. They continued serving drinks for another two hours until it finally started to slow down. Cassie sat on the chair in the corner, happy to give her sore feet a break. There was a live band playing tonight, and those nights were always busy. “So, what’s the plan for tonight after you get off shift?” Tabitha asked as she put the clean glasses away. Tabitha was 22 like her and had beautiful amber-toned skin and thick curly black hair that she braided into a large bun on top of her head. She had a well-toned body that she showed off in her red tube top and black skirt, and her long legs were expertly shown off with her red stilettos that Cassie still didn’t know how she could walk on without falling. “Well, I was hoping you’d join me for a night out?” Cassie said with a smirk and showed her a small bundle of money. “You didn’t…,” Tabitha groaned and gestured for Cassie to put the money down. “I swiped it from his wallet while he was busy making that face,” Cassie said and copied the face the guy from the bathroom had made when he came. “That’s gross,” Tabitha said with a repulsed look. “Tell me about it,” Cassie shrugged and got up to help Tabitha clean up. “That doesn’t make it right to steal his money,” Tabitha whispered with a raised brow. “Do you remember the blond guy that came in here about three hours ago and tried to hit on you?” “You mean that pervert that wouldn’t take no for an answer?” Tabitha said thinkingly, “Unfortunately, he’s hard to…. No, don’t tell me…” she stopped what she was doing and crossed her arms angrily. “Let’s just say that he was eager to make it up for you by sponsoring our girls’ night out,” Cassie smirked, “And considering how drunk he is, he’s just going to think that he spent all this money.” “You fucked someone just to get access to his wallet?” “Well, he looked like he could handle himself around a bathroom stall, and I’ve been on edge recently, so I thought I could hit two birds with one stone,” Cassie sighed. “I guess you only managed to hit one bird,” Tabitha said and leaned her head to the side. “It’s more like he made it worse, and I desperately need to get some action now,” Cassie groaned. “So, you want me to join you for a girl’s night, then watch you disappear into the night with another stranger that you hope will be able to “help” you?” “When you say it like that, it makes me sound like a bitch,” Cassie chuckled. “That’s an argument for later,” Tabitha giggled, and they stopped their conversation as they served a group of freshly legal girls that were enjoying their freedom. “So, you’re not going to join me tonight?” Cassie sighed. “Sorry, Mr. Long offered me to finish the shift after he said that Kirsty wasn’t coming in,” Tabitha said with a soft smile, “You know I need money. I couldn’t refuse the chance.” “You know I can help you,” Cassi shrugged. “Legal money, Cass,” Tabitha frowned. “Yeah, yeah, I hear you,” Cassi smiled, “Later then.” “You bet on in,” Tabitha said and gave her a small hip bump. “I’ll clear off some of the tables before I leave,” Cassie nodded and noted that she still had fifteen minutes left of her work time. Cassie took a tray to put the empty glasses in and a couple of wet rags to clean the tables. There were still several people in the bar, but she expertly moved around the area and cleaned off empty tables so others could sit there. It was always crowded like this when a live band was performing, no matter who was performing. “As long as the lead singer is hot, the drinks keep flowing,” her boss Victor Long usually said. She finished cleaning up a table and started taking empty glasses from an empty booth next to it when a strong smell hit her nose that made her hair stand on edge. Werewolves. “What are werewolves doing here?” she muttered to herself, and the shock almost made her drop a glass, but thankfully her reflexes were faster than those of an average human, and she caught it before it hit the ground. She placed it carefully on the tray and glanced over her shoulder. Four people had entered the bar, three guys and one girl, and all four of them were werewolves. The girl had long black hair, tanned skin, and piercing blue eyes that could probably make ice freeze over again and wore a black crop leather jacket, a dark blue halter top, and black jeans. One of the guys had light skin, medium-long fawn hair with a fade-out, and soft stubble on his face. He wore a black jacket, a red shirt, and black cargo pants. Guy number two had fair skin, curly ginger hair, a soft face with freckles and green eyes, and wore a simple gray shirt and jeans and a much leaner body build than the other guys. The third guy stood in front, and Cassie could feel her heart skip a beat at the sight of him. He had honey-colored skin and thick dark brown messy hair that reached his eyes. He brushed it back with his fingers, and Cassie could see his deep blue eyes that one could get lost in for hours, and she started squirming as her mind turned to dirtier thoughts. He had a hint of soft stubble, and his facial features seemed to have been sculpted by a Greek god. “Seriously, did I really just think that?” Cassie groaned and shook her head in disappointment, but soon found herself gazing in his direction again. He was wearing a black blazer, black jeans, and a top that matched his eye color and didn’t leave much for the imagination, since it clearly showed the muscles underneath. He seemed to be the group leader, but his stature also told her something else. “He’s an alpha,” her wolf Alexa confirmed in her mind. “And that’s just what I need to top my night,” Cassie groaned and quickly looked away as the alpha’s eyes met her own. She finished cleaning the booth, but when she turned around, she bumped into someone that almost made her drop her tray, making stale beer spill over the person. “I’m so sorry,” Cassie said apologetically. “It's alright, it’s my fault for getting so close,” a silky-smooth voice said that made her feel butterflies in her stomach, “I just wanted to ask if the table was available?” Cassie frowned as the smell hit her, and she looked up. In front of her stood the alpha that had just entered the bar. He wasn’t a little taller than her, but it still felt like he towered over her, and she could feel his dominating aura. And she had just spilled beer all over him. “Uh, yes. It is,” Cassie nodded as she placed the tray on the table. She took out her clean rag and tried to wipe some of the beer out of his shirt. She could feel his alpha aura radiating off him, and all her instincts were telling her to run away, but her scent was well covered, so running would probably arouse more suspicion. “It’s alright, you don’t have to worry about it,” the man said with a curious voice, and Cassie looked up to see him look at her intriguingly as she wiped off his shirt. “Mate!” her voice suddenly exclaimed in her head, and she finally noticed the soft tingle at the tip of her fingers where she was touching his chest. “What did you just say?” Cassie could feel her whole body tense at her wolf's statement. “That’s our mate!” her wolf said again, and Cassie could feel her wagging her tail in her mind. Cassie took a moment to register what Alexa had just told her. The moon goddess clearly appreciated her taste when choosing a mate, but that didn’t mean she was thrilled to have one. Thankfully, it seemed like he hadn’t noticed their bond since her scent was covered, and she meant to keep it that way. “I’m so sorry," she said as she took her hands off him and gave him an embarrassed look, "I was too caught up in my mistake. I didn’t notice I was touching you inappropriately,” Cassie said with a professional voice, “Because of my mistake, the first round of drinks is on the house,” she said with a slight nod, picked up the tray, and walked quickly to the kitchen. “What are you doing?!” Alex whined in her mind as Cassie put the dirty dishes into the sink. “I’m cleaning up,” Cassie said and rolled her eyes. “You know that’s not what I meant!" Alexa growled. “Well, you should know why I’m NOT letting him know we’re mates!” Cassie growled back, and Alexa huffed and shut her out. Cassie shook her head and rolled her eyes again, not caring that her wolf was angry at her. Her wolf should know her well enough to know that she wasn’t a good mate material, especially for an alpha. She remembered the dominating alpha aura around him that screamed at her to run away, but it also made her excited, and she shook her head as she started blushing. She could also feel a wet spot appear in her panties as she thought about his body underneath all those clothes, but stopped when she noticed what she was doing and cursed herself and that stupid mate bond. “Hey, you alright?” she heard her friend Tabitha say as she stood in the doorway to the kitchen. “I’m peachy,” Cassie muttered. “You sure? Because you’ve been cleaning that glass for almost five minutes.” Cassie grunted and placed the glass down. “Just in desperate need of a drink,” she sighed. “Well, your shift ended almost ten minutes ago,” Tabitha said with a raised brow, not used to Cassie sticking around at work longer than necessary. “I guess I just lost track of time,” Cassie shrugged as she dried her hands. “Are you sure you’re alright? I noticed you were talking to one of those people that just arrived. Did he say something to you?” Tabitha said with a frown. “Nothing like that,” Cassie chuckled lightly, “I accidentally spilled some beer on him, so I was just apologizing, and I told him that the first round was on the house.” “You think Mr. Long will appreciate that?” Tabitha grimaced. “Of course not,” Cassie shrugged, “That’s why you take it from my account and tell them it’s on the house.” “Are you sure?” “I just spilled beer all over the guy. It’s less of a trouble to offer them drinks than risk them complaining,” Cassie said as she walked over to her locker. She pulled out her green leather jacket and put it on. “Stay safe,” Tabitha said and gave her a quick hug, “And stay out of trouble!” she called after her. “Yeah, yeah…” Cassie said and waved her hand up in the air in reply. She took a deep breath of fresh air as she got outside and bid farewell to the bouncer, Gregor, who had been at the bar since she started working there a little over a year ago. It was a chilly fall night in Missoula. Its location was in the middle of Lolo national forest on the borders of Montana, and it wasn’t on any pack land and was large enough to stay there unnoticed. “At least until now,” she thought as she passed the street and headed for the closest bar, desperately needing a drink, but wondering what an alpha was doing in such a remote place.
