Richard lowered his eyes slightly. With all that stubble on his face, it was hard to read any expression from him, and he didn’t respond.
I frowned a little. “Victor Greaves? That name rings a bell... I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere.”
Jordan looked over at me, smiling. “He’s super famous—even if you don’t follow chess, it’s totally possible you’d know the name. Plus, he’s from a really rich family, and kind of an unstoppable force in the chess world.”
I didn’t really know much about the chess scene, so I asked, “Is he super rich though? Like, Ronald rich?”
Ronald was one of the wealthiest guys alive, an absolute titan in the business world. Comparing someone to him helped me figure out just how ‘legendary’ this Victor Greaves guy actually was.
