His words made my heart beat faster. Was that why they were so willing to share me? To keep me safe, so that I wouldn’t endure the same fate that their mothers had dealt with.
Oliver’s phone chimed again and he lifted my hand, kissing my fingertips. “We will always protect you.”
I nodded. I could feel the truth to his words pulling at me through the bond.
“I have to get going or Bash is going to tattle to Lucian. Do you want to come with me? Or did you want to try to get some rest here? If you like games, I can set you up with a game? Or I can take you back to Lucians’ room if you’d feel more comfortable there?” Oliver’s words came out in a rush and I smiled against his back. “Or I can take you to Kaida’s so you can spend some time with your sister.”
