Evening came faster than I had expected.
I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my earrings for the third time, trying to pretend I wasn’t nervous. Today was the day I would finally go visit Regina. Darius had been completely against it at first—so against it that I had stopped asking for a few days. I needed time to rethink my plan.
A small smile appeared at my lips when I remembered last night.
His reaction the very moment I called him papi had been hot.
If I had known that one word was all I needed to soften him, I would have used it a long time ago.
I suspected something was off though…
He agreed too easily.
