POV: Adriana
Adira’s voice cut into the haze of my thoughts. “Adriana.”
I blinked, realizing I’d been staring at the wall for too long. This was the fourth time already. My mind wasn’t even in the hospital room—it was still stuck in Darius’ office, echoing with the word ‘mistake’.
“Adriana!” Adira’s voice came louder this time, pulling me back to reality.
I turned slowly to her. She was propped up against her pillows, her eyes sharp even though she was the patient here.
“I think you should go home,” she said softly.
“What? No,” I shook my head immediately. “I’m not going home now. I promised to spend the whole day with you.” It wasn't only the promise that was making me stay here. I just didn't want to go home and see Darius.
