Carla was sitting on her bed holding her knees up to her chest with her arms wrapped around her legs when she heard a faint knock on the door, looking up she saw her mother standing in the doorway, eyes red and puffy, her cheeks still red from crying. "Mum, what's wrong?"
"Your, um...your grandparents won't use their resources to find Angel but they're going to make an appeal to the Council when they have their meeting."
"Oh," Carla replied. "Is that all they said?"
