I stood there, shocked and fully enraged by the man standing there confidently next to the woman I…had feelings for, as if she were his. As if they belonged to each other. It was maddening, to say the least. What was most upsetting was the hurt and betrayal I felt from her standing beside them. I had absolutely no right to feel this way. Wilhelmina was not mine to control, and despite the complication of my reckless marking of her, I had no right to her, especially after what I did in violating her. Still, though, it didn’t mute my feelings on the matter. “What are you doing here?” I couldn’t help but ask this question, as despite the acknowledgment that I could not control Wilhelmina’s decision, I was still irritated that Adanis was a decision that she had decided was a good one.
