The pulsating rhythm knocking against my head made it hard for me to open my eyes. It was as if my heart was thumping against my brain. Nausea began to sink in, and immediately, I felt nauseous. I shot up and vomited on the side of what I suddenly realized was a bed. I then felt a soft, comforting pat against my back. “It’s okay, Frost. Let it out,” I heard Max say. I was glad that she was there. When I finally catch my second wind, I fall back against the bed and immediately think to look around.
