We’d been in Adanis’s abode for days now, which I’d long ago lost track of. There was just far too much on my mind of late. Keeping count of the days was the least important thing to prioritize at that point. There were simply too many other things to think about. Too many other things were happening. I could hardly sleep at night and on the rare occasions that I did, it was only for an hour or so. I wanted to go home. I wanted to save the kingdom-my kingdom. I wanted to make sure that Ethra was in good hands. Most of all, however, and perhaps most selfishly, was the fact that I wanted to find my family or, at the very least, know what happened to them.
