The alarm howls through Moonridge territory at dawn, three days after Daniel and Ashley's betrayal. I'm already awake, running through defensive plans with Rowan when the sound cuts through the morning air.
"Eastern border," Rowan says, reading the signal pattern. "Large force."
I grab my weapons and head for the door. "Get everyone to their positions. This is it."
Aria meets me in the hallway, already dressed in fighting gear. "I'm coming with you."
