CELINA’S POV — Waking up with quietude isn’t what I expected. What I did expect was the heaviness I've woken up to this last couple of days. When I opened my eyes, I waited for that ache to slice down my chest and for my mind to overflow with thoughts of the last three years-- but I woke up with peace, a quietness that swept over the room that made me feel like the last couple of days didn't even happen, like it all didn't go to hell and that I'm not fake dating a man I barely know-- a man that's different, somehow, but I don't know how. Rolling over, I reach for my phone to look at the time. Nine am, and I sit up at the sight of Logan’s name on a text notification. Staring at the screen, I inhale a breath as last night’s bets replay in my mind, and I open his text with a shaky thumb.
