21 Jane and George said little to each other for most of the journey by limousine from Melrose Arch to Pretoria’s Capital Park Station, where they would board the train for their trip to Cape Town. George had a list of calls to make, mostly to the UK, which was fine by Jane. The airconditioning in the Mercedes was icy and Jane asked the driver to turn the temperature up and the radio down.
