Morning light spilled across the silk sheets as Rose stirred awake. Her lashes fluttered open slowly, adjusting to the soft light pouring in from the tall windows. The first thing she noticed was the scent on the pillow, clean, masculine, and unmistakably Alessandro. She sat up, dazed, her mind still wrapped in fog. How did I get here? The last thing she remembered was falling asleep on the couch downstairs. Her eyes swept across the luxurious bedroom. This was Alessandro’s room, their bedroom. His bed. Their bed. And though he was nowhere in sight, she instinctively knew he had carried her here. The thought made her chest tighten with something strange. Something warm.
