Alpha Barrett I sighed when my sister sent my call to voicemail. It was late, and I was surprised she had been trying to reach me all day. Placing my phone on my desk, I leaned back in my chair, staring at the leather sofa. Reaper purred in satisfaction as I remembered last night and what happened. “It was a one-time thing,” I told him, and he huffed. I exhaled. “I don’t make the rules. She isn’t our mate.
