“I wish I could cancel,” Jethro said, and I forced myself to smile as I looked at him. “I could at least postpone,”
“No, that’s not necessary. I will be fine,” I said to him. He took out his phone and checked it again.
“If only Lee-Ann was available,”
“I don’t need your housekeeper mother to come babysit me,” I said, and to be honest, I was getting annoyed. I wasn’t some doll that was so fragile it would break. I understood his tension, but a break apart would do us both good. His eyes were hesitant, but then he slowly nodded.
