After they took Grace, Lennox helped Alastair to go to another room that they made ready for him. Alastair decayed quickly. He barely could walk. Lennox helped him to lie down, and he covered him with a thick quilt. He was about to give him water to drink when he heard him whispering.
“Please, bring Aurora back. I want to spend a little time with her.”
“I’ll ask Catriona.”
Alastair nodded and let his brother give him some water. When Catriona returned with Aurora, he put the little one next to her father. He held her gently in his arms and just watched her sleeping.
“I’ll be back soon.” Lennox said, and he left the room. He needed a few moments again, then he walked to the dining room. It was dinnertime, so he knew the rest of the pack would be there.
