Saoirse shook her head hopelessly.
“Maxim, can’t you see what is happening? Your mother hates me. I’m sure she is behind this again.”
Maxim closed his eyes in disbelief.
“Saoirse, stop it. She doesn’t like you, I know, but she would never harm Caleb.”
“Why don’t you believe me?”
“Because this is farcical. We all know my mother, but she wouldn’t do such a thing like this.”
Saoirse sighed.
“Okay, then think whatever you want to, but mind that I’m going to feed my pup myself from now on.”
“Well, if you feel better like that, I won’t hold you back. Okay?”
