It was like an explosion had gone off outside. The constant pounding on the door now being replaced by shouting as Ace’s voice stood out to me the most.
“What the f**k dude!” He yelled, and then I heard what appeared to be a scuffle.
My body reacted before my brain could catch up. The fact that Ace was out there with whatever psycho had been trying to get in here caused me to rush over.
“Ace!” I yelled frantically, unlocking the door as the worst case scenario played through my mind. What if it was a robber and they had a gun? What if there was more than one guy and now Ace was being beaten to a pulp all because of me and my stupidity?
I yanked the door open just in time to see Ace bent over breathing heavily as the sound of tires screeching echoed through the parking lot.
