Chapter Forty I turn to William, who’s staring at me with a feral look in his eyes. His demonic side is still in control, which is scary, but I know he won’t hurt me. He stares at me for a moment, his intense gaze  burning into me. I stare back, unflinching. I know what he’s doing. I just saw his demonic side come out and play, so Will, as well as his demonic side, is trying to see whether or not he scared me or pushed me away. Yes, he scared the s**t out of me. Even me allowing the darker side of myself merge back didn’t prevent the little bit of fear, even after we merged, that I felt.
