"You will marry me for one Super Moon Cycle. And in return, I will give you money, name and protection" He told me when we first met. I should have said no. I should have run away from him. But I didn't. I needed the money to save my dying brother. I didn't know what terrified me more. The contract I signed with Alpha King, or the fact that my wolf called him mate on the day of our wedding. He wanted a bride. A Luna by name. And here I am, spending days beside him with the mate bond that's burning me alive.

Chapter 1
Mira's POV "I will be right back," I whispered as I walked out of the house. I needed medicine for my brother and I have a shortage of money. I am at that point of my life where I would do anything for the money. I could kill someone if that's what the money demands. My brother is dying and there is no other thing in the world that would stop me from doing whatever it takes to save him. Just when I stood in front of the pharmacy, I spotted the Royal guards. They don't come visit this side of the pack. Because this pack is a refugee for werewolves who thinks the Alpha King is a bastard. When I tried to enter the pharmacy, they stopped me from getting in. And now I am back to being afraid again, the little confidence slowly leaving my body. "I hope you are Mira Arwen," One of the guards said as he looked at me from the top to bottom. I wanted to say that they have the wrong person. But they are the Royal guards. One time or another, they would know that it's me. So I simply nodded and confirmed that they have the right person. "We have been waiting for you for an eternity. Now get into the car," they said and I looked at them with wide eyes. "I did not side with the refugees. I -" "Shut up and do as we say," He said again and that shut me up. They are not going to listen to whatever I want to say. So I calmly sat in the car they pointed. I've never sat in a luxury car like this. But I am familiar with cars thought. My dad had one before our family turned upside down. I lost my father and mother in a Refugee war. Now all I have is my brother who is struggling to stay alive every single day. The car moved and I clutched my small cloth purse close to my chest. If I lose this money, then I am left with the rest of the savings which could only give me food and medicines to my brother for this month. I scanned the people in the car with me. A driver. A guard in the front. And just me in the backseat. For some reason, it gave me a weird comfort knowing that they are not dragging me like every other person in the refugee side of the pack. I may be poor now but once upon a time, my father fought for the same Alpha King who is now being called Ruthless. Like I said, one day turned my family upside down. I could have been a healer if I finished my studies. I could have been much more than what I am, if I still had my parents supporting me. The car came to a halt almost forty minutes later. Someone opened the door for me and I saw that I am in front of the huge mansion where The Alpha King lives. "I think we have the wrong destination," I said and the guard glared at me. I walked out of the car and stood in front of the mansion. I had to bend my head all over to the back to see the top of the mansion. That's how huge it is. I was nudged to keep walking forward and that's what I did. "Am I being called to serve The King?" I asked in hopes that that's the reason. I would do anything here. Cooking. Scrubbing the floor. Washing the clothes. Anything they ask. Because even for an Omega, the pay here coming from the Royal mansion is larger than what they can get outside for regular jobs. I came to a halt at the living room but I was nudged even more. They are now asking me to keep moving and I did. Where are they taking me? Me and the two guards behind me came to a halt in front of a room. This side of the mansion is not to be entered by anyone except a very few servants. "Get in. His Majesty is waiting for you," the guard said. And with that, my head started spinning. The King wants to see me? What did I do? What punishment am I going to recieve? Before I could say No, one of the guards pushed me inside the room and I stumbled as I walked in. I almost fell down but thankfully I did not. I helped myself and stood back up. I scanned the room and at the window, I caught him staring at his own kingdom outside. I know that he knows I am here. But silence is his answer so I stood there, trying to understand why I am here. "Mira Arwen, I suppose" he said with his voice smooth like silk. "Yes, Your Majesty" I whispered as I bowed to him. King Aiden Holt looks like a dream. A dream in a human form. But to many, the same dream is also a nightmare. He walked towards me, with his blue eyes fixated over me. His calm posture is making me calm myself. At least he is not angry. He stood in front of me and I had to avert my gaze, knowing that I should not look at him in the eye. That's an unspoken rule in the werewolf world. "I have an offer for you. One that I know will benefit both of us," he said and I am curious now. "What benefit can I be of to you, Your Majesty?" I asked him back. I am after all, a no ranker right now. With just a roof over my head and a dying brother I have to tend to every day. "The Supermoon Cycle starts in two days," he said and I nodded at him. The Supermoon is auspicious for the Royals. They celebrate the arrival of Supermoon every decade. I was only thirteen when the last celebration took place. And like mine, Alpha King's parents were alive too. "For that, you are going to marry me tomorrow" he said and with that, I am officially shocked. What does he mean by marrying him tomorrow? "Be my wife and a Queen for one year. I will give you the money you need for your brother. I will give you protection and an insane amount of fortune. But remember, Mira Arwen. This stays between us," he said. I could not move. I couldn't blink. I couldn't even take a breath as I looked at him. He cannot be serious, can he? "Your Majesty?" I asked him. "I have my reasons, Mira. I went through so many options before I found you. You are my best bet," he said again. I can't understand. What does he mean by that? "You don't have a choice. I am not going to give you one. Either watch as your brother dies, or be my wife and watch him get better treatment from the best doctors in the entire werewolf race," he smirked at me. That was exactly where I was sold. "For one year?" I asked him and this time, I dared to look at him in the eye again. "Yes. One year. And you are free to go afterwards with the money I am going to give you then. Restart your life and never tell a soul about our thing," he said with a smile this time. So I agreed. I agreed to be the contract bride to The Alpha King.
