Eileen “Get up Eileen. It’s time to get a move on.” I frown wanting to ignore that voice and sleep in another thirty minutes. “I will throw cold water on you! Now up! You will be late for work.” I throw the covers back like I’m thirteen again. My mother gives a stern nod and leaves the doorway. Moving in either her had not been my first choice but Stanley had disappeared and there was no one else who would take my phone calls the week before my release. So much for all my so-called friends. Though in hindsight none of us were friendly. More a one upping competition each week when we met to see who had the better possessions and stories.
