Ellis squeezes my hand on the way to his dad’s house. “Going to be packed here tonight. Can’t remember the last time Dad had so many people over.”
“I love your dad. He’s wonderful. Reminds me of mine.”
“I’ll share him. Though I think we both lose out tonight with Kevin and Polly around.” He grins not looking very sad about it.
We’re the first to show up and he hugs us both. “Good day?” He asks mildly.
“I got this signed.” Ellis hands over the document to release my inheritance.
“So good of Stanley to have had a change of heart last week. I’ll get it filed by the end of the week. Laurel you should have it all transferred into your name by next week’s end.”
