Ellis She left me super early. Probably around five this morning. I came home from poker night hoping she left some kind of hint around the house. Though I truly only snooped through the living room and kitchen. When I woke, I laughed at the note on her pillow. “No cheating and coming in at 6:30 Jaws. Your usual time.” I am more nervous for this morning than I have been the entire contest. A sign sits outside my door on a stand. It’s the movie poster from Jaws but instead of the swimmer above the shark, it has cut out heads of Stanley, Cora, Rick, and Killian bobbing in the water. Beneath the shark are photos of me and the guys with the caption “It’s never safe to go back into the water for some.” I laugh softly as I am now terrified of what she’s decked it out with.
