Chapter Sixteen. Safron felt her skin scratch and tear from the thorns and branches which reached out and held her body in place. The backpack which was so important to Leon rolled slightly out of her grip, as the Chevy truck continued ahead, rolling down the small road which dipped slightly, picking up speed. The truck veered from the road, before smashing into a tree, the bursting into flames. Her hand clasped her mouth, as she watched in utter disbelief a new fear consuming her heart, as she hoped and prayed that Leon had jumped free from the truck.
