Once we had made it outside to the most private area of the palace grounds, which had my favourite flowers and a large wisteria tree in the centre of neatly trimmed hedges, Lorcan and I strolled side by side under the warmth of the sun in a comfortable silence. We had already done one lap of the garden before he looked over his shoulder at the two guards a short distance behind us.
“I take it they come as part of the package too?”
“Afraid so,” I smiled, reaching out for one of the flowers on the hedge that looked a little droopy. I projected my power into it and the dark red petals turned a few shades lighter and the stem grew a little taller, stretching towards the sun.
