Lucille’s POV
My fingers slide over the soft pages of the ledger, feeling a spark from the static electricity it creates. Brian and Thomas both shouting at the same time for me not to touch the pages, but nothing happens.
Brian “Lucille! Don’t!!”
Thomas grabs my arm pulling it away just after I had touched the page.
Thomas “Lucille!!”
I look at the two of them as if they had gone insane. Seeing the fear of near-death in their faces.
Brian “That was how David ended up in a coma! Lucille, sweetheart? Are you okay?”
Lucille “Yes, I’m fine. These are just pages, not totems.”
Thomas “They could also have been spelled, Lucille! I… We know nothing of what my father and my pack did to protect their secrets.”
Lucille “I’m okay guys. I promise.”
