The memorial was pretty cool. After the introduction of the speaker for the event, they showed videos of Neffi parents and gave speeches about how much they loved Neffi and her family. Neffi was in tears the entire time, but it was a mixture of happy and sad tears, so I made sure to play the boyfriend role perfectly, being there for her when she needed it. It was so great to be in a place where our relationship wasn’t frowned upon but welcomed. Everyone there supported us even my parents and that made me feel great.
Then around 2 I noticed my siblings come in with Sam. So I pulled Neffi away from her table and towards them. Music was still playing I guess it was an intermission of what was about to come and everyone was up mingling. Of course the moment Dom entered he got stares.
