“Garridan, do you know how long it has been that we've been like this?” It just occurred to me one afternoon while we were watching the setting sun. The sky was painted orange, red, and gold. It felt odd to enjoy our honeymoon period this long, really, for some reason.
We were seated on a huge branch of an apple tree, munching its fruit. He was leaning back against the body of the tree, while I was leaning against his, cradled by his muscled thighs and arms. It was indeed pleasant to be with him like this, like nothing else mattered in both our realms.
I turned my head to look at Garridan, and he chuckled softly.
“Does it matter?” His brows slightly knitted. “Aren’t you happy we’re like this? Just the two of us, nothing that’s between us. No battles and no⸺”
