It was late afternoon, and there seemed to be no one at home. It was quiet.
Where could they be?
I walked into the house, since the door was not locked. I continued to call out their names, including the two sisters’. I checked the cellar, but only a hint of those who lived here remained.
I wondered how long I had been gone since the last battle. Maybe I would never know because the difference between our realms was just too different. We had no sense of hours in Hebbiza, unlike Earth, aside from the phases of our two moons.
