"It's not like that." I raised a brow at what she said. "Okay, I have to admit that I was not thrilled when my superior told me about the job in Toledo. But after meeting the Queen, it's not like I have a chance to say no."

Maya looked horrified even though I was just joking around with her.
"Have you met your mother? When she talked to me, I felt like I was put in a trance, that if she asked me to do something, I would say yes to anything."
I smiled. "Well, she has that effect on a lot of people." There was silence for a minute. "I am glad you're okay."
Maya frowned. "I should be the one saying that. I have wanted to see you for a while now, but the desk job was not exactly easy. I don't like paperwork."
