The boardroom at Kingsley Tower was sixty floors up and entirely hers. She had chosen it for that reason — not the altitude, but the ownership. She had made every decision in this room at this table, and whatever happened today, the room's memory was on her side.
She arrived at ten. The family arrived behind her in the arrangement they had agreed on: Alexander and Marcus first, then Tyler and Gavin, then Nolan, then Kane beside her, then Damian at the edge where he had positioned himself at the adoption hearing and found that it suited him.
