Chapter 53 - Beelzebub's Descendant

829 Words
What is the best way to explain something like that to someone? It was difficult. Heartbreaking. It had to be done, though. I had no choice but to leave him on Earth for the rest of my life. He needed to go through this with me, mature, and move on. That was the mantra I kept repeating to myself. But it's been three months and I still haven't moved on. I haven't completely forgotten about him. "I'm going to pay you a visit up there. Do you want anything?" my father asks dryly. "Chips, ears, hooves?" Since then, things haven't been the same for us. He was the one who wielded the ax that shattered our hearts. He annihilated me in ways I never imagined a parent could. "I'm sorry it had to happen to you, Angel, but you knew you could never stay up there since you were an abomination on Earth. Every angel despised your presence there, so much so, that every one of them plotted your death." "I was doing fine on my own. I lived just fine for weeks. You didn't have to ruin it all for me just like you did for mom." His mouth tightens. His lips pursed. His eyebrows meet in fury. But he said nothing and left the room, closing the door behind him, slowly. "Well, that was a bit harsh, darling." Lilith comes inside the room. "Yes, I'd been lurking outside. Lucifer still owes me an apology, but he does not deserve a lecture nor that sassy mouth of yours." I turn away, guilty. Hours later, while trimming the dead bushes, father approaches me. "I will allow you to return to Earth for one more day. But under my direct orders, and strict conditions." Lucifer starts. It has been a week's time since he had returned his daughter safely to where she belonged. But even the Immortuis could sense her depressed manner. She had lost all hope and faith. She had lost her spirit. Santi looks up, with her eyes dull and empty, blankly staring back to those of her father's. "I need you to find Beelzebub's descendant. She will guide and protect you." He sternly instructs. As Santi begins to interject, about to say that she had survived weeks without anyone's help before, Lucifer stops her. "The angels are only under a truce. But they will not stop taking advantage of all opportunities that might show up. To murder you, my princess." "Okay, what else?" She finally gets involved in the conversation but definitely seemed out of it. Lucifer was hesitant with his decision. But Lilith had given her full support of his decisions, seeing their lovely, fiery demon, slowly dissipate into something of a soulless creature. "I have with me Beelzebub's descendant. She is to come with you anywhere you go. Understood?" Santi nods and Lucifer brings forward a girl. Just about Santi's age physically, or maybe a tad bit older. "This is Hannah." Color rushes to Santi's eyes seeing something reminiscent of her life on Earth. She knew Hannah. How was this even possible? "I am Hannah, a direct descendant of Beezlebub. Currently living as one of the humans. Protector of Lucifer's legacy." She introduced in a blank stare. "We have been strategically placed all over the Earth to ensure peace and take our place against the angels. My family rules Chantico and there are more other families ruling other places here in different parts of the city. My human father's name is Desmond Towski and my mother's name is Victoria Hammond. I have killed for my family. I have killed for Lucifer, the great God. And so I shall kill for you, as well, the chosen one." She finishes her declaration by kneeling down before Santi. Shocked and a little flabbergasted, Santi widens her eyes at her father. "She has been trained since she was little. Anticipating for this day. Waiting for you, my angel, to begin your own journey on Earth." Lucifer warmly expresses, cupping Santi's cheeks in his hands. “Do you not recognize me?” Santi says, approaching Hannah who seemed off. Yes, she was psychotic on Earth. But she acted very formally and stood as a knight in front of her here in Hell. “I do, my princess. However, I am a soldier at your disposal, not your friend. I honor the tradition and responsibilities that have been set upon me long before I was born. You are a legacy. As am I, only that I stand here to protect you.” “So the schizophrenic episodes? Were all those made up?” “Not at all, Santi,” Lilith interjects after listening closely to their conversation by the bushes. “Demons have a certain kind of reaction to living on Earth. May it is for legacy reasons or not. Although it wasn’t exactly schizophrenia, they do experience certain medical and mental illnesses.” “It’s scientific, sweetie,” Lucifer adds.
