All along, I'd been expecting my future employer would be some rich guy who was worried about being robbed. I was well prepared for that, I thought, because of my combat training and experience in actual combat. I wasn't sure a woman would think about things like that. Once again, reality was a lot different from my expectations. The woman looked me in the eyes just like the Drill Instructors in boot camp had.
