I was looking at the moon, sitting on the roof. I wanted to think about what to do next, and staying in that room was not helping me.
"You are awfully quiet," Adrineh said as she sat by my side.
I have no idea how she found me; I made sure no one saw me climb up here. But then again, Adrineh had always been unnervingly perceptive.
Sometimes she is freaking annoying, but right now...
"I kissed Jacob," I admitted, the words tumbling out before I could stop them.
Adrineh raised an eyebrow but didn’t look surprised. "And? He is your mate, it is normal."
"And then Seth tried to..." I trailed off, fingers tightening around the edge of the roof.
"Tried to what?"
"Join in," I muttered.
Adrineh smirked. "Ah. And you shut him down."
I didn’t answer. I hate that she can read me so well.
