The woman's golden eyes widened as my violet flames slithered into her mouth, nose, and ears. Her body convulsed violently, and her wings beat against the ground in desperate, jerky motions. I could feel her spirit fighting against the corruption, her phoenix fire trying desperately to purge my darkness, but it was all in vain; she was not strong enough.
