I look at Lucy expectantly , with a proud smile because I am sure she will love my present , I am waiting for her to cheer up but my smile fades as her expression of surprise slowly changes to one of horror , her mouth opens in an almost comical expression and she looks at me with wide eyes.
Then she frowns , and opens and closes her mouth several times as if she wants to say something but doesn't know how to do it.
" Josh , I don't ... I don't think we are ready for this, " she tells me in a small voice.
I tilt my head in confusion.
Ready for what? What is she talking about?
My confusion grows when she looks from the box to me and back to the box , as if she is considering a very serious matter.
And that is when realization falls on me ; Lucy thinks this is an engagement rin
