She ended the call before he could say another word. The screen went dark, her reflection faintly visible on the black glass. Georgia’s fingers stayed around the phone, trembling slightly. For a moment, she couldn’t move. The silence in her room pressed down heavy, almost choking. Her heart beat too fast, too loud. It felt like it was trying to break out of her chest.
