When my eyes fluttered open, Alex was taking the gentlest step back from me. His eyes still pleaded with mine. Alex. His name hit me like electricity in my veins as I stared at the masked hero in front of me. I remember him, I know him, I love him. I hadn’t forgotten anything. Time crawled by as my eyes flickered from the backing away Alex, to the hovering Maria, then back to my distraught mother.
