The news struck Alaric so hard, he nearly lost his sanity.
He stood up from his seat, his hand gripping his phone tighter.
"Wh.... What're you talking about?" He arched his brows. "Where's he? Where are you?"
When the call ended, Ivanka was on her feet as well.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"My father..." Alaric shook his head, scrolling through his phone.
"The HCRA found us guilty and has requested for the hospital to be shut down. I need to go now," he answered hurriedly and ran up the stairs.
He returned almost immediately, putting on a longer trouser and holding his car keys.
"I'm so sorry. I'll be back as soon as I can," he said to Ivanka who accompanied him to his car.
"No, it's fine. I totally understand," she answered, got a peck from him and watched him leave.
